Sports Buddies – A call to men.
Disproportionately the children we serve and those waiting to be matched are boys. Their parents seek our support, knowing a Mentor can recognize their son’s potential and model positive choices that put him on the path for success in and out of school.
Sports Buddies are male mentors that build trusting, positive and fun relationships with their male mentees through weekly featured basketball activities at Parrish Middle School.
Why do we need Men?
7 in 10 of our children waiting for a Mentors are boys, but only 2 out of every 10 mentors are men. Research shows that having the positive influence of a male mentor makes a real difference in a boy’s life. So step up to the plate and give a young person someone to look up to. And learn why so many are now saying, “I get back so much more than I give.”
