Mentoring Works!
Our community needs your support
At Mid Valley Mentors we focus on two at-risk populations: The first includes children ages 4-18 who are children of prisoners, have been involved with the juvenile justice system, or who have multiple risk factors.
The second includes incarcerated adults who have been referred through a Marion County Reentry Initiative partner agency and will be reentering Marion County in the coming months.
Mid Valley Mentors participants reported that
because of their mentoring relationship…
93% feel more supported
94% increased their positive values
81% have higher expectations for themselves
74% feel more empowered
| In Marion County During 2008: | |
| • 1,745 youth were arrested | • 2,145 youth were placed in foster care |
| • 1,037 youth dropped out of school | • 246 teens gave birth |

“I’d really like to help..
…what can I do?“
Donations of all sizes directly support mentoring, they are tax deductible and easy to complete. Click on the Donate button to learn more.
We need all kinds of volunteers: volunteer mentors, administrative volunteers, event volunteers and expertise volunteers (attorneys, accountants, etc.) We also support the Marion County Mentoring Partnership, so if you have time and/or talent to give, we can find a volunteer opportunity for you!
