Mid Valley Mentors has both 1-to-1 or Group Mentoring opportunities for Volunteer Mentors to help the parents of our community transition out of incarceration to live in Marion County.

As a mentor you can share your experience in business, employment resources, parenting and family communication, positive connections and your personal life experience! Mentors encourage and support!

Mentoring helps our clients discover new ways of thinking, make steps to rebuild family connections, and  work towards successful futures with hope and confidence!

ReConnect is an adult mentoring program that provides both 1-to-1 as well as group mentoring for adult men and women releasing from a state correctional facility to live in Marion County.

Both 1-to-1 and group mentors will have the opportunity to begin mentoring the client/s prior to release and then continue the mentoring after their release to help create a smooth and supportive transition into the community.

Mature adults who have a passion for helping others are needed to provide their experience, strength and hope to these individuals and provide support and resource connections to the mentee as they pursue employment, housing, and family relationships.

This is a great opportunity for phsycology, sociology or criminal justice majors – OR- anyone who has the heart to work with this population.

Mentors meet with the client weekly for up to 12 months. Thorough training and ongoing support from Agency staff is provided. We make same gender matches only. You may review our position descriptions below.

The second annual event was coordinated by Race Northwest and featured a 5k and 10k course.  Over 80 individuals young and old, first time to well-seasoned runners, ran, walked, trotted and strolled their way across the finish line, some with 4-legged friends.

With the enthusiasm and hard work of 32 volunteers and perfectly cool temperatures the event ran smooth from beginning to end with fun for everyone involved.

Timing results are posted online and pictures can be found on Twitter and on Facebook. We look forward to great things again next year.
